If you have ever tried to get a proper dinner in Marrakech after 23:00, you already know the problem: most kitchens shut earlier than the night does. The clubs in Hivernage and Gueliz only really start to fill after midnight, but by then half the city has stopped serving food. Liva is the address that fixes this, and it is the reason we list it on Marrakech Nightlife rather than only as a restaurant — for our use case, Liva is a nightlife asset.

Liva is a modern brasserie that opened in 2025 on Boulevard Abdelkrim Al Khattabi in Gueliz, right next to Marrakech's train station, a few steps from L'Atelier patisserie. The kitchen runs continuously from 08:30 to 00:30, seven days a week — breakfast, lunch and late dinner are all served in the same room. For a before-club night in Gueliz, that schedule is the entire point.

The late-kitchen problem in Marrakech

Marrakech has a strong restaurant scene — palace dinners in the Medina, traditional Moroccan tables, the new wave of Gueliz brasseries. But almost all of it shuts the kitchen between 22:30 and 23:30. That is fine if you are eating and then going home. It is a problem if your night actually starts at midnight, which is when the clubs in Gueliz and Hivernage hit their stride.

Most people end up forced into one of three workarounds: a too-early 20:00 dinner that leaves four hours of awkward standing-around between the table and the dancefloor; club bar snacks at twice the price and half the quality; or a 3 a.m. shawarma run when the body finally protests. None of those is what we want to recommend to friends visiting the city for a weekend.

Liva sidesteps the whole sequence. A kitchen running until 00:30 means you can have a proper sit-down meal at 22:00 or 22:30, push the chairs back, and walk to the club from there. Or you can do the reverse: dance, get hungry, and instead of relying on a kebab counter you sit down for actual food. That is rare in this city, and it is the entire reason this page exists.

What Liva actually is

The format is a European-style brasserie codebook — clean, broad, executed properly. The menu covers wood-fired pizzas, fresh pasta, an espresso bar, signature drinks (both a published mocktail list and an on-site alcoholic offering — full prices a few sections down), an artisan gelato counter, matcha latte and specialty coffee. Mains land between 130 and 250 MAD; espresso starts around 22 MAD. That places Liva in the same conversation as the better Gueliz tables without the palace-restaurant ceiling.

It is not a club. There is no dancefloor, no resident DJ programme that we can verify, no entry fee. What it is is a room that is genuinely good at every part of the day-into-night arc — a morning coffee at 09:00, a quick lunch at noon, dinner at 21:00, drinks at 23:30, late food at midnight. The same building, the same staff, the same level of care. That continuity is unusual and it is what gives Liva its place on this site.

I stopped by Liva and the product caught me from the first bite — clean cooking, careful plating, warm service that doesn't crowd you. It's the kind of address where you take your time.

Liva as your before-club anchor in Gueliz

Geography is the second reason Liva works for a nightlife night. Boulevard Abdelkrim Al Khattabi is core Gueliz — train station on one side, the rest of the new-city grid on the other. The Gueliz bars and clubs we recommend on this site sit within a few minutes' taxi or a walkable distance. You do not commit to a side of town when you book Liva. You commit to a starting point.

Our suggested timing for a Friday or Saturday in Gueliz:

  • 20:30 – 21:00 — Arrive at Liva, drink at the terrace if the weather allows.
  • 21:00 – 23:00 — Dinner. Pizza or pasta, share something off the gelato counter, espresso to reset.
  • 23:00 – 23:30 — Walk or short taxi to your Gueliz bar of choice (we suggest Baromètre for cocktails, or the wider Gueliz scene).
  • 00:30 – 02:00 — Clubs open up properly. From central Gueliz you can be at Hivernage in 10 minutes by taxi if you want a bigger room.

And if the night goes long — which it usually does in Marrakech — Liva's late kitchen window means you can do the whole arc in reverse: club first, late food second. Glovo delivery under the store name "LIVA BRASSERIE MODERNE" covers the case where you have already made it back to the riad and just want something proper to land on.

Signature drinks & the late bar

Two things to know about drinks at Liva. First, the venue publishes a signature drinks list that is — to be precise about it — a mocktail list: signature non-alcoholic creations, served the way a good bar serves cocktails, between 48 and 60 MAD. Second, Liva does also serve alcoholic drinks on site, but the alcoholic cocktail list is not published online and rotates — ask on arrival.

Here is the verified signature (non-alcoholic) list from the Glovo menu — useful both for ordering on arrival and for the late-night delivery scenario:

Signature mocktail Ingredients Price
Signature Seasonal fruit blend or ginger 60 MAD
Paradise Orange, pineapple, grenadine 60 MAD
Basil Smash Basil, lemon, cucumber 60 MAD
Rosemary Fizz Grapefruit, rosemary 60 MAD
Mojito (virgin) Lemon, mint, lemonade 48 MAD
Mojito Fraise Lemon, mint, strawberry 54 MAD
Red Love Red berries, honey, milk 54 MAD
Sunset Mango, pineapple 54 MAD
Avocado Avocado, banana, honey, milk 54 MAD

Prices verified from Liva's Glovo menu (store: "LIVA BRASSERIE MODERNE"), May 2026. The alcoholic list is not published online — ask on site.

For a before-club Gueliz night this matters in a way most people miss: if you are designated driver, on a dry month, travelling with someone who doesn't drink, or just want a proper-tasting drink at midnight that isn't a Coke — Liva's mocktail bench is genuinely one of the better ones in the city. And the alcoholic list still runs in parallel, so you can mix your table without anyone being the odd one out.

Got Questions?

Frequently Asked Questions

How late is the kitchen open at Liva?

Liva's kitchen runs from 08:30 to 00:30, seven days a week. You can sit down for a full meal as late as midnight — one of very few addresses in Gueliz where this is genuinely the case.

Is Liva a good place to eat before going clubbing in Gueliz?

Yes — that's exactly the angle. Liva sits on Boulevard Abdelkrim Al Khattabi in Gueliz, walking distance to most Gueliz nightlife. A 21:00–23:00 dinner here flows naturally into a club night without needing a taxi back across town.

Where is Liva exactly?

Boulevard Abdelkrim Al Khattabi, Gueliz, Marrakech 40000 — right next to Marrakech's train station, a few steps from L'Atelier patisserie. Easy to find, easy to taxi to from anywhere in the city.

Do I need to book a table?

Reservation is recommended Thursday to Saturday evenings — those are the busy nights. The rest of the week you can usually walk in. To book, DM @liva.marrakech on Instagram or call +212 6 60 61 59 99.

What does Liva serve?

A modern brasserie menu: wood-fired pizzas, fresh pasta, an espresso bar, an artisan gelato counter, matcha latte, specialty coffee, signature non-alcoholic drinks (mocktails) and alcoholic drinks. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and late dinner are all served in the same room.

Does Liva have cocktails — and is the menu alcoholic or non-alcoholic?

Both. Liva's published signature drinks list (Glovo) is a series of mocktails — signature non-alcoholic creations between 48 and 60 MAD. Liva also serves alcoholic drinks on site, but the alcoholic cocktail list is not published online; ask on arrival for what's currently being poured.

How much does dinner cost at Liva?

Mid-range. Mains land between 130 and 250 MAD; espresso starts around 22 MAD. That puts Liva in the same conversation as the better Gueliz tables without the palace-restaurant ceiling.

Does Liva have a terrace?

Yes — there is an outdoor terrace, which is what you want for the pre-night drink in spring and autumn evenings.

Can I order Liva to my riad?

Yes, Liva delivers via Glovo under the store name "LIVA BRASSERIE MODERNE". Useful when you're back at your accommodation late and the medina kitchens have all closed.

Is there a dress code at Liva?

Smart casual. It's a brasserie, not a club — you do not need to dress up, but the room reads polished and the crowd matches.
